When we found out we were going to have a daughter, I immediately began thinking about and praying over this room. I knew I wanted it to be girly, but just couldn’t decide what to do. I started with the wallpaper. I pick four different wallpapers that I loved and let Derek pick the winner. He picked good because I LOVE how it turned out.
Our crib and dresser were technically the first items in the nursery. I picked them knowing they would be perfect for a girl or a boy. I had sent pictures to my mom asking if she liked them and a few weeks later she surprised us with them both! Once we bought the rocker everything became about the details. The pillows, stuffed animals, books, and blankets. I loved finding something on a whim and getting it for her room.
I have to say, my favorite thing in the nursery is the mirror from Homegoods. When I found this I knew it had to go in her room. I love the design and the shape of it. Plus who doesn’t love Homegood’s prices?!
Organization
I am huge on things having a place and being organized. Don’t get me wrong, our home is rarely in tip top shape, but I love to keep things tidy the best that I can. I knew I wanted her dresser to be super organized with all her onesies, accessories, swaddles, etc. This was fun to put together in that nesting stage! 6 months in and I can say there isn’t a single part I wish I would’ve had different, added, or not had to begin with. As she is getting older, the things in her dresser will obviously change. I raided the container store for 90% of the things I used for organization in her drawers and closet! I have linked as much as I possibly can below!
I cannot wait to see Isla grow up in this room. Now to get the rest of our house decorated and done!!
Bow Organizer: This is from ikea. I ordered 4 of the SUNNERSTA rails and 8 packs of the SUNNERSTA hooks.
